♦ Launching of NRCO-ISP Business Plan Competition and Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines MultiPurpose Cooperative

In line with the celebration of Seafarers Day held on June 26, 2015, the National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO), in partnership with the Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines (ISP), has launched a business plan competition for seafarers and their families and the newly opened Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines MultiPurpose Cooperative.

  


♦ Launching of NRCO-ISP Business Plan Competition in Mariners Court, Cebu City

The National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in partnership with the Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines (ISP), visited the Queen City of the South on 12 August 2015 to promote the conduct of a business plan competition for seafarers.

This aims to encourage and hand-hold qualified seafarers intending to venture into social entrepreneurship and at the same time, support the growth of jobs in their hometowns and communities.

  


♦ Launching of NRCO-ISP Business Plan Competition in SM Bacolod and SM Iloilo

Capt. Gaudencio C. Morales together with Capt. Juan Antoine Dela Torre, DOLE Regional Director, OWWA representatives and some of the participants in the launching of the NRCO-ISP Business Plan Competition at SM Iloilo on August 25, 2015 and August 26, 2015 at SM Bacolod.

  


♦ Philippine Manning Convention 2015 (November 10-11, 2015)

The Philippine Manning Convention 2015 is a two-day long program that was facilitated by heads of maritime-related government offices as well as leaders from the maritime industry both from the employers sector and labor sector. Capt. Gaudencio C. Morales is one of the speakers in the event held at Fiesta Pavilion, Manila Hotel, One Park Rizal, Manila on November 11, 2015. He talked about “Empowering the Filipino Seafarers and The Manning Industry Corporate Social Responsibility”.

  


♦ Awarding of NRCO-ISP Business Plan Competition (December 4, 2015)

Capt. Gaudencio C. Morales delivers a Message of Appreciation on the Awarding Ceremony of the NRCO-ISP Business Plan Competition held on December 4, 2015 at Bayleaf Hotel, Intramuros, Manila. Capt. Morales extends his gratitude to the NRCO for the honor of being its partner in the Business Plan Competition. He hopes that seafarers will not retire poor also saying that "Walang forever sa Pagmamarino."



Mr. William C. Gaspay, who owns the “seaweeds farming” business proposal, garnered 93.4 score which led to his winning of Php500,000.00 cash prize courtesy of the Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines (ISP). Four runner-up winners received a cash prize of Php50,000.00 each and three received consolation prize of Php20,000.00 each.

♦ “Gabay ng Pamilyang Marino” Radio Program Raffle and ISP Christmas Party

Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines (ISP) has a regular radio program every Saturday at 4:30PM to 6:30PM with Radio Inquirer DZIQ990AM titled “Gabay mg Pamilyang Marino”. It is hosted by Capt. Gaudencio Morales and co-hosted by family of Seafarers with their respective field of expertise.

Raffle was drawn on December 19, 2015 to serve as Christmas Gift to the listeners of the radio program.

Raffle prizes include Round Trip to Boracay and Palawan with 3 days free accommodation, 2 Samsung Note 3, 5 MyPhone I26, Fry Pan Set, Barbeque Grill, Stand Fan and Rice Cooker, Transistor Radio, Grocery items and Cash. Total of 20 minor and 5 major prizes.

On the same day, ISP Christmas Party was celebrated at Jemarsons Place, 1626 Pilar Hidalgo Lim St., Malate, Manila City.

After the party, ISP established the Association for Seafarer’s families called “ISP Family”.

♦ Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines MultiPurpose Cooperative

For Alternative Avenue of Seafarer’s Empowerment, ISP MultiPurpose Cooperativewas established and started its operation on October 2015 in order to provide
  • Funds for Seafarers family use while awaiting embarkation.
  • Finance Seafarer’s Training needs.
  • Encourage savings and investments for hard-earned income that will cater to member’s needs and serve as investment opportunities through:
    - ISP Cooperative Stores
    - Dormitories and Housing
  

As of December 2015, almost 80 members were registered and applied for their loans.

Ang project na ito ay isang competition para samga seafarers na gusto ng mag retiro sa pagbabarko at pumasok sa larangan ng pagnenegosyo lalo na sa agri business. Wala kayong gagawin kundi ang gumawa ng “Business Plan” at kayo ay pwedeng Manalo ng P500,000.00 (Kalahating Milyon) para sainyong panimula at implimentasyon ng inyong napiling gagawing negosyo.

Last 27th of February 2015, another SHIP (Seafarers and their Household Integrated Programs) seminar has been conducted with the speakers Coach Dave (Dave Aguila; Senior Managing Director), V.V. Soliven (Vincent Richard Castillo; Real Estate Broker), WMFA (Estrelito Miguel Valdeavilla Jr.; Senior Managing Director), Sunlife (Nancy M. Linao; Financial Advisor), Along with the 50 seafarers and wives of the seafarers who attended during the seminar.

Chief Cook Jaime Forlales who was featured in Gabay ng Pamilyang Marino on the youtube, was able to introduce and sold some of his products (Mariners Clothing & Style) to the attendees to where the seminar was being held.

The next SHIP (Seafarers and their Household Integrated Programs) seminar is will be on the 27th of March (last Friday of the month), for those who are interested to be part of ISP and be updated of the upcoming events. The first SHIP (Seafarers and their Households Integrated Programs) seminar for the year of 2015 has been successfully held last January 30, 2015. Coach Dave Aguila who’s a success coach with concentration on personal finance, realistic motivator and holistic investor is our speaker for this seminar, during the seminar the speaker is articulating ideas on financial awareness to the attendees. After the seminar most of the attendees were motivated to plan for their future which is engaging into business or investing.

The next seminar is will be on the last Friday of the month (February 27, 2015) which will be held at Jemarson Building 1618 4th Floor room 403. Seafarers & their Households Integrated Programs (SHIP) has been able complete its conquest for the year 2014, Giving seminars for the seafarers and wives of the seafarers. The attendees were very thankful for what they have absorbed for the past 7 months of free seminar for the seafarers and to the wives of the seafarers. Entrepreneurship, Guidelines of home buying, Franchising and Livelihood Program, Financial Literate and Insured these are some of the things that are being learned from the attendees for the past few months of giving free service for the seafarers and to their wives.

During the last seminar for the year 2014, Last November 28, 2014 the president of the Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines (ISP) Capt. Jess Morales along with his wife Madame Lidwina Morales, were giving early Christmas gift for the 60 attendees during the seminar. The attendees were very thankful for what they had received from the president along with his wife.

Another SHIP has sailed! Along with the 50 seafarers and wives of the seafarers who attended the seminar, conducted last October 24, 2014 at Jemarson Place Building 9am-4pm. The attendees were very thankful for what they have learned from the seminar with regards to Entrepreneurship, Finance & Allotment Management and some technical home buying tips on Real Estate.

Speakers came from 3 various companies that were invited to articulate ideas in their field for this session. Mr DaniloRolian Jr. (Center for Small Entrepreneurs); Nelmiralyn C. Montoya( Sun life Asset Management Company, Inc.) Richie Castillo (V.V. Soliven Realty).

Mr. Jaime Forlales was given a chance to introduce his t-shirt and perfume products to the attendees during the last part of the seminar and a few message to encourage the seafarers and the wives of the seafarers to engage into business.

The next seminar will be on November 28, 2014.

Another SHIP (Seafarers and their Households Integrated Program) has been successfully held along with the 50 attendees seafarers and seafarers wives during the seminar last September 26, 2014. Giving tips, ideas and experiences on becoming a successful entrepreneur, introductory talk on Real Estate Investment and choosing a home that is best for your family.

Our speakers for this session included Ms. Florlynn Dela Pena the Executive director of the Center for Small Entrepreneurs(CSE); Ms Audrey Arugay the Sr. Unit Manager of Property Company of Friends, Inc. (PRO-FRIENDS) and Richie Castillo the Real Estate Broker and Sales Agent of (V.V. Soliven Realty Corporation)

The attendees were very thankful for what they have learned from the seminar.

ANOTHER SHIP HAS SAILED!

Another successful SHIP (Seafarers and their Households Integrated Program) was held last Friday, July 25, 2014 at the ISP Seminar Room. There were around seventy (70) seafarers who participated, along with their wives and other relatives. The attendees were equipped with practical tips on basic entrepreneurial skills and managing finances, given various business opportunities, and an introductory talk on Real Estate investment.

Our speakers for this session included Ms. Florlynn dela Pena, the Executive Director of the Center for Small Entrepreneurs (CSE); various franchisors from RK Franchise Consultancy such as Frenzy Pizza, Oh My Lash, Nail Runway, Montage Skin Science and Aesthetics, Kuya Ferdz Sisig and Ninik's Lechon Manok & Liempo; Mr. John Raymond V. Sarreal, the Executive Marketing Director for the International Marketing Group (on Wealth Academy); and Realtor Ariane B. Langit, the President/ CEO of Island Empire Properties.

This SHIP was conducted successfully in partnership with the Center for Small Entrepreneurs, RK Franchise Consultancy and Island Empire Properties.

ISP's next SHIP session would be on the last Friday of August 2014.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

The Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines and MBC Radio DZRH with the participation of the Maritime Clinics and Doctors Association of the Philippines successfully conducted a medical and dental mission on June 28, 2014 (Saturday) with Barangay 702 of Malate, Manila as its beneficiary.

About 300 residents of the abovementioned barangay, young and adult alike, received medical and dental attention from 17 doctors and dentists combined, and 21 nurses and pharmacists assisted. Beneficiaries of the medical and dental mission where also provided the necessary medicines they need as prescribed. Food where also provided after the process.

The activity where supported by PHAP Cares Foundation, Inc., The Generics Pharmacy, Blue Cross Pharma, Pascual Laboratories, United Laboratories, Inc. and Manila Med.
ANOTHER SHIP SUCCESSFULLY HELD

The second series of the SHIP (Seafarers and their Household Integrated Program) was conducted last June 27, 2014 (last Friday of the month) at the ISP seminar room. About seventy (70) seafarers and seafarers' wives received practical tips and knowledge on livelihood, business and money management. Attendees of the seminar were from Metro Manila and nearby provinces like Laguna, Cavite, Bulacan, Pampanga and Rizal.

Aside from the topics "Entrepreneurship 101", "Franchising" and "Cash Flow", there were franchisors who shared their success stories and presented their business opportunities such as Dada's Litson, Ninik's Lechon Manok, Montage Skin Science and Aesthetics, Nails Runway and Oh My Lash.

The attendees went home very thankful of what they learned and hopeful to succeed in their plans to be in business and to manage their financials for a better future.

The SHIP was successfully conducted in partnership with Center for Small Entrepreneurs, RK Franchise Consultancy and Laurus Enterprises.

The third series will be conducted again on the last Friday of July 2014.

The Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines (ISP) launched its free seminar dubbed as SHIP (Seafarers and their Households Integrated Programs) last May 30, 2014 at the ISP Secretariat Training Room in Malate Manila. It was attended by about 70 seafarers and seafarers' wives.

Among the speakers were Ms. Florlynn dela Pena-Executive Director of the Center for Small Entrepreneurs, Mr. Rudolf Kotik-CEO of RK Franchise Consultancy, and Mr. Jerome San-CEO of Laurus Enterprises. Topics on how to start set up a business, buying the right franchise and growing your wealth were discussed.

The Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines (ISP) has partnered with Filipino International Franchise Association (FiFA) and Center for Small Entrepreneurs (CSE) to provide Filipino seafarers and their families SERIES OF FREE MONTHLY SEMINARS on financial literacy, livelihood and business dubbed as SHIP (Seafarers and their Households Integrated Programs). This seminar will commence on May 30, 2014 (Friday) 9:00am at unit 401 Jemarson Building, 1618 P. Hidalgo Lim St., Malate, Manila and thereafter will be conducted every last Friday of the month.

Also included in the SHIP is Laurus Enterprises. It is the sole company authorized to conduct Cashflow 101 of the world's best-selling author Rich Dad, Poor Dad, Robert Kiosaki.

ISP LENT A HELPING HAND

Last April 30, 2014 the Integrated Seafarers of the Philippines (ISP) form part of the Operation Tulong for the fire victims of barangay 702 in Malate, Manila.

The Operation Tulong distributed clothes and foods to about one hundred fifty (150) families who were affected by the fire. Thereafter, assistance to affected families went on for a week thru a feeding program.
